Guide Dogs For The Blind is a registered charity that offers a wide range of services and information for sight impaired adults and children, and their loved ones.
Of course, as the name suggests, a lot of their work surrounds helping people figure out if they’re eligible for a guide dog or companion dog. They also help with the application process and matching them with a new best friend for life.
Guide Dogs For The Blind also offers information and support to anyone affected by visual impairment or vision loss. They provide accessible books so children can enjoy the magic of storytelling, and support visually impaired children with the life skills they need to live independently and navigate the world. They also train people to be sighted guides, so they can help their vision impaired loved ones get around, and support them with daily tasks.
Guide Dogs for the blind relies heavily on the work of volunteers. From sponsoring a puppy to helping raise the next generation of guide dogs, or donating and campaigning, there are a lot of ways to help.
One easy and fun way to support the charity is by entering their competitions! Guide Dogs For The Blind run regular raffles and a weekly lottery where you can win some fantastic cash prizes, all while helping a worthy cause.
Guide Dogs For The Blind’s weekly lottery has 210 chances to win every week. Weekly prizes are up to £1000, and if that wasn’t exciting enough, four times a year they run a superdraw where you can win up to £10,000. Imagine what you could do with that!
You can enter for £1 a chance, and it’s up to you how many chances you want to buy each week. All money raised helps support the work of Guide Dogs For The Blind, so the more people enter, the more money they raise. And the more you enter, the bigger your chance to win.
You don’t have to worry about checking your winning status, either. Guide Dogs announces all winners on their competition page, but if you forget to check, no problem. If you win, they’ll automatically post a cheque out to you.
Guide Dogs For The Blind also run regular raffles with some big cash prizes. Take their autumn 2022 raffle, for example. There are 54 cash prizes available, with a top prize of a cool £10,000. And even if you don’t win the big one, they have plenty of smaller prizes and runners up prizes too. From a sweet £20 all the way up to £2000, there are lots of prizes up for grabs.
Wondering how your entry helps? Guide Dogs For The Blind explain on their website that just £2 can buy a dog food bowl for a growing guide dog puppy, while £8 pays for a blue vest dogs can wear to let members of the public know they’re guide dogs in training. Every entry helps support their important work, so why not try for a cash prize today? Entrants must be over 18, and don’t forget to check the terms and conditions. Good luck!
